Attorney General Student Awards 2009 Welcome from the Attorney General
I believe that pro bono is at the heart of what every good lawyer does. Lawyers who undertake pro bono work need, and deserve, our help, support and encouragement. It is a real pleasure to be able to recognise and congratulate the students and law schools nomintaed for this year's Awards. It must be remembered that their pro bono work has been undertaken alongside busy studies. Their enthusiasm and professionalism has been exceptional.

We have nominations from more law schools than ever before and I am particularly pleased to see law schools from Scotland participating, helping to join up pro bono across the UK. Paul Newdick CBE
