<p>Because Jack was aware of the number of people applying for a Travelling Fellowship he never truly believed that he stood a chance of obtaining an award. Surely such organisations don't give out such wonderful opportunities to people like him and with so many applicants he really felt it difficult to take his chances seriously. When he received the letter saying he had in fact been successful the impact was profound. Not only was he amazed that he had been awarded a Travelling Fellowship but now he knew he had the responsibility of delivering a project worthgy of the trust placed in him.</p>
